    AVF scores win, double podium finish at the Nurburgring

    AVF put together an excellent display today at the Nurburgring in the sixth round of the World Series Formula V8 3.5. Lining-up at the German venue, the team led by Adrián Vallés cruised to victory in race 1. Thanks to a great start, Matevos Isaakyan sailed to the lead at the first corner and never looked back until the checkered flag fell. For the Russian, today’s win was the second of the season after the one secured in Race 2 at Spa. He is now fully back in championship contention with 145 points and lays third behind Fittipaldi (150) and Celis (146). Completing the podium in third place was Egor Orudzhev, who managed the turn 1 traffic perfectly. He also moved up to fourth place in standings with 140 points. With a combined total of 285 points, SMP Racing by AVF is now second in the team championship behind Lotus.

    “It all happened at the start, I was able to find a clean space and I went for the lead. From that moment on I just had to keep my pace and not make mistakes. It was a great result with a win and 25 heavy points for the championship”.

    “The start was good, then I managed to overtake Palou and Fittipaldi in turn 3 taking the podium. In the end I had to manage the return of Nissany but I could keep my position”.
