It was a more than positive weekend for AVF at the Nurburgring. After cruising to the lead of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 in both the driver and team standings, the operation led by Adrián Vallés left a strong impression in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 too by capturing great results. The weekend featured variable weather conditions, and an hefty rainfall hit the track on Sunday morning, putting Henrique Chaves out of contention in a re-start behind the safety-car. Extremely quick in qualifying with the fourth fastest laptime of Group A, the Portuguese ended the first race of the weekend in P5 though, really close to the overall podium positions.
The growth of Axel Matus was extremely valuable too. He was ninth in Group A in the second qualifying session and also ended up P12 on Sunday. Tomas Randle was positive too at his second appearance of the season. He stayed in the points zone with a ninth place in race 2 after barely missing the top-10 on Saturday in 11th place.
